FSB officers prevent a series of terrorist attacks in the city of Volgograd, two terrorists were killed during the arrest. It is reported by Public Relations Center (TsOS) FSB.
reportedly, terrorists turned out to be immigrants from one of the countries of the Central Asian region, who are members of an international terrorist organization banned in Russia “Katiba Tawheed wal-Jihad”. The activity of the cell was controlled from the territory of Syria. Terrorists were preparing a series of terrorist attacks in the city of Volgograd, their target was government buildings, places of residence of military personnel and explosive and fire hazardous enterprises.
During the arrest, the leader of the cell and his accomplice, trying to extract explosives from the cache, put up armed resistance and were destroyed on the spot.
Simultaneously in Moscow, St. Petersburg, Ufa, Maikop and Volgograd, other members of the interregional cell were detained, in respect of which procedural decisions are made

At the scene, as well as firearms were found in the places of residence of terrorists, ammunition, chemical and damaging elements for IEDs, religious literature, as well as a map of Volgograd with the places of planned terrorist attacks marked on it.
Investigations and operations are ongoing, a criminal case was initiated under h. 1 Article. 30, no. 2 Article. 205 UK.
