L-39NG certification was supposed to start last summer, but the company decided to postpone it to the third quarter 2020 year due to the company's desire to skip the intermediate stage of certification for the aircraft of initial flight training and immediately enter the stage of certification for the aircraft of advanced training of pilots.

L-39NG (NG — next generation, new generation) is the latest version of the Czechoslovak combat training aircraft L-39 Albatros, made the first flight in 1968 year and produced for the USSR Air Force and the countries of the socialist camp. His updated version L-159, developed in the 90s, is in service with the Czech Air Force, Hungary, Iraq, and is also used by the private American military company Draken International.

The new aircraft received a composite wing and lost additional fuel tanks, which at the base Albatros were located on the wingtips. Instead of the Soviet AI-25TL jet engine, the modernized American FJ44-4M was installed on the L-39NG.

Also, the L-39NG has new avionics from Genesys Aerosystems and an indicator on the windshield Speel Praha. In total, more than half of the components and assemblies of the aircraft were replaced with new ones..

The length of the L-39NG is 12 m, and the wingspan is 9,6 m. The maximum takeoff weight of a training aircraft is 5,8 tons. It can reach speeds of up to 775 kilometers per hour and fly up to 2,6 thousands of kilometers. The aircraft is equipped with five suspension points for various types of weapons with a total weight of up to 1,2 tons.
