It is done differently in different schools., it depends on the temperament of the director, staff of the educational institution, the school's sense of self. The more the school associated itself with the traditions established many years ago, the brighter the holiday. A huge number of flowers in the teacher's office - this image, of course, will remain conscious for life.
In my opinion, Knowledge Day has always been different, that all grievances, whatever they were, passed over the summer. I want to see you, I want to start a new life with a clean slate. Or, conversely, proceed, if everyone liked it.
This is the day, when no one owes anything to anyone in a good sense of the word. No responsibility, and there is an opportunity to speak directly to each other - "I love you", "I miss you", "I'm interested in life", "I'm ready to start a new life".
No unfinished homework, no talk about, who did or didn't do what. Even if something was asked for the summer, all this will be checked later, in few days. A 1 September need, for everyone to see, embraced, talked or even just stood on the sidelines.
First Graders Appear, they are interesting to look at. Children in other classes have grown noticeably in the meantime., become adults. It is immediately visible! After all 1 September is also the stage of growing up, like a birthday or new year.
And it's a holiday anyway! Music sounds, everyone is dressed differently, many colors.
I'm connected with 1 September with many bonds. Our publishing house is called “The First of September”. This name was invented by my father, outstanding teacher Simon Soloveitchik.
Throughout life 1 September in my life turned out to be connected with some events. I remember, how in 2004 year on this day I was at a round table live on the air of one of the Russian radio companies. We talked about something, and here comes the message, is far, hostages are taken in an unknown town in a school. Something happened on the ruler in the school room 1 the city of Beslan, which few have heard of before..
This was the first message from Beslan, which i received, sitting in the radio studio in the morning, still not understanding the scale of this tragedy. So this every year 1 September for me is also a memory of what happened then.
There was another story. In one of the years I ended up in Poland with a mobile bureau. But for this country 1 September is the beginning of World War II. And everything is different there...
Later, working in various schools abroad, I found out, that few countries have a clear start date for the school year. Few places have a centralized educational system at all.. There are differences between countries, cities, if we talk about the USA - then between the states.
And we have one day. Moreover, some schools hold a solemn line, even 1 September falls on the weekend.
On this day, the first lesson is held in an unusual format - it is sometimes devoted to ecology., the world around, friendship with other nations. And this is also part of unity with other people., with the whole country.
This year, the children have not seen each other for several months., if not more. And now they are asked to maintain social distance, optional - wear a mask. The world order interferes in the life of each of us, while the holiday is common.
I congratulate everyone on the start of the school year. This is a very important day in life and for teachers., and for children, and for parents. The most important thing to remember is, that the most important result is the dignity of each of us.
