The eighth mine defense ship of the project was laid down in St. Petersburg 12700 (code “Alexandrite”), named “Lev Chernavin”. The laying ceremony took place at the Sredne-Nevsky shipyard.

Процесс пропитки занял около двух суток. Церемонию официальной закладки назначили 24 July.
В церемонии закладки участвовали заместитель главнокомандующего ВМФ по вооружению Игорь Мухаметшин, главный советник гендиректора ОСК Виктор Чирков и главный конструктор тральщиков проекта 12700 Александр Калинин.
Новый корабль получил имя Льва Давыдовича Чернавина – советского офицера-подводника, rear admiral, commander of submarines of the Northern Fleet.
