State tests of a new caliber submachine gun 9 mm, developed as part of the development work (OCD) “Knight-MO”, completed. This is reported by Kalashnikov-media.
The new submachine gun is based on the serially produced 2005 years PP “Knight-CH” subject to comments and shortcomings, identified during its operation.
The interdepartmental commission recognized the product as suitable for mass production and recommended to assign a name to it “9 mm Kalashnikov submachine gun PPK-20” to perpetuate the memory of Viktor Mikhailovich Kalashnikov

stated, that at the stage of development of a new submachine gun, the design and composition of the product were brought in line with the requirements of the tactical and technical task, improved ergonomics of the PP and the equipment attached to it, a device for low-noise shooting was introduced into the composition. The reliability of the new PCB is significantly improved compared to the base product.
In addition to the muffler, the PPK-20 includes: belt with one-point and two-point fastening, special bag for carrying magazines, related equipment and cleaning products.
The performance characteristics of the PPK-20 are not given in the press release, but most likely, they will not differ much from the characteristics of the PCB “Knight-CH”, adopted by the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation in 2005 year. Submachine gun “Knight-CH” is in service with special units of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, FSB and FSO.
