President of Russia, Supreme Commander-in-Chief Vladimir Putin ordered a surprise inspection of the Russian armed forces. It will affect the troops of the Southern and Western military districts, marines of the Northern and Pacific fleets and individual formations of central subordination, as well as the Airborne Forces (VDV). This was announced by the Minister of Defense of Russia Sergei Shoigu.
In accordance with the decision of the Supreme Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation, a surprise check of the troops of the Southern and Western military districts is carried out, separate connections of central subordination, Airborne Troops and Northern Marines, Pacific fleets

The audit will assess the ability of the armed forces to ensure military security in the southwest of the country and prepare for strategic command and staff exercises “Caucasus 2020”, which will take place in September.
Leadership in the preparation of associations, formations and military units to perform combat training tasks will be carried out by the commanders-in-chief of the branches of the armed forces, Commander of the Airborne Forces and heads of the central bodies of military command.
