US Army Picatinny Arsenal Engineers Advance New ALAS-MC Artillery System, intended for combat vehicles. It includes a medium-caliber gun, new ammunition, LMS and equipment, necessary for faster and more accurate destruction of targets.
It is assumed, that the new product will surpass all existing systems in the world, characterized by high performance and size of victims, which the enemy will carry. The fire will be conducted from the 50-mm XM913 cannon with HEAB-T high-explosive ammunition (based on shot XM1204) against personnel, including the one hidden behind the walls, and armor-piercing APFSDS-T (based on Xm1203) against materiel. The operator will have at his disposal a graphical user interface and an advanced laser rangefinder.
The developed system clearly demonstrates the deadly blow, which the gunners will be able to inflict due to the quick adoption of the right decision on firing, greater accuracy and firing range. We expect, that in general, the actions of the gunners will become three times faster
– employees said, employed in the project, pointing out, that "the dead will have to be stored".
Picatinny engineers believe, what's in the future HEAB-T, likely, will replace standard high-explosive ammunition, used with the 25 mm M242 Bushmaster cannon. New shots allow you to fine-tune the projectile software: detonation point, moments of detonation and explosion in the air. Equipment, combat monitoring, automatically works through possible scenarios, which are displayed on the interface. On it, the gunner indicates priority targets from a set of icons.. Based on this choice, the OMS independently determines the optimal number of shots and the affected area.
