Turkish Armed Forces successfully carry out Tiger Claw operation in northern Iraq. In particular, Turkish military manages to eliminate nine fighters of Kurdistan Workers' Party in Haftanin (PKK).
A message about this operation appeared on the official Twitter of the Turkish Ministry of National Defense.
It says, that the fighters of the Turkish special forces are engaged in the destruction of militants. They carefully search each cave for cover., where are the representatives of the Kurdish armed groups hiding:
Our heroic commandos continue to destroy the nests of terror. Our fighters, who entered every cave, looked under every stone, found and neutralized more 9 PKK terrorists, hiding in the area.
Operation Tiger Claw was Ankara's response to increased shelling and attacks on Turkish army positions from northern Iraq. The decision to start it was made 17 June.
First, military aviation struck 150 Kurdistan Workers' Party facilities. F-16 aircraft used by the Turkish army, helicopters and attack drones.
Anti-aircraft missile systems and self-propelled guns "Shtorm" were also involved.
After the air raids, special forces were sent to the strike points for the final stripping.
In Baghdad, the Turkish operation is considered a violation of the country's sovereignty.
