Russian special forces and landing units will soon receive a new parachute system “Storm” borderless type, allowing to land from a height 70-80 m. About this in an interview with RIA Novosti told adviser to the CEO of the holding “Texnodïnamïka” (It enters Rostec) Sergey Khursevich.
According to Khursevich, Currently, the new parachute system is at the factory test stage and is preparing for state. Now, parachute jumps are performed by specialists of the enterprise, military personnel have not jumped yet, since the system has not yet been adopted, although military tests have already been carried out.
We will do everything, so that the deadlines for completing all tests before deliveries to the troops are as short as possible. The thing is, that some testing may require some refinement, which can be done in an hour, maybe in a month, therefore, I can’t say more specifically
– he added.
Khursevich explained, that the idea of a new parachute system is, that the domes with free ends themselves are in the aircraft, and not behind the paratrooper’s shoulders. ie. a soldier is loaded into an aircraft only in his own equipment, without a parachute, in a special safety system.
(…) if you need to parachute, then they fasten to these systems inside the board, and if by tactics landing by landing method is possible, then the military does not need to bother with parachutes, they simply don’t fasten to the system and land in the landing method or along the rope
– said the adviser to the general director.
According to him, this is the only system, allowing you to enter the unit immediately into battle, rather than land in a distance from the front edge to prepare. It allows you to drop fighters from a height 70-80 m.
For our part, we note, what about the first tests of the new borderless landing system “Storm” it was announced at the end 2016 of the year. At the same time it was reported, that the state tests of the new parachute were planned to begin in 2018 year.
