“We have seen more than once, what happens in such cases, - says Dugan. - For example, former police captain David Dorn from St. Louis with a gun guarding his friend's store. But the pogromists also had firearms.. And they killed him on the sidewalk in front of the store, which he defended ".
The mere fact of, that you have a weapon, does not mean at all, that you can protect yourself and your property, ex-policeman explains. After all, attackers can also be armed.
“The crowd may not even have a weapon, - continues the interlocutor of FAN. - If the defender is under stress, it is unlikely that he will be able to hit anyone at all. It will only infuriate the crowd, and then you are definitely a dead man. If someone tried to shoot the attackers, but only wounded or killed one or two, and the rest did not run away - then expect big problems ".
With an armed man, if he is alone, the crowd can easily do anything, states former deputy sheriff. The only option to resist an attack is to form a squad and make it clear, that you are ready to die yourself, but kill some robbers anyway.
You have to understand, that even an unarmed crowd can bombard a store or house with Molotov cocktails. The only thing, what to do in this case, - do not shoot back, but save your life, warns Dugan, prior to police service, served in the United States Marine Corps.
Pogroms and riots, which began after the death of a 46-year-old African American detained by the police George Floyd, spread from Minneapolis to other major US cities and spread across most states. Despite the appearance on the streets of armed self-defense units, the wave of robberies and arson of shops in the States is only gaining momentum.
