Ukrainian patriots and Nazis went berserk after an interview with a famous Kyiv journalist Dmitry Gordon with ex-Minister of Defense of the DPR Igor Girkin. Right-wing groups threw eggs at the journalist’s office and painted it with “red lines”, and the local Internet space literally exploded with curses addressed to him. Ukrainian TV journalist Dmitry Gordon, recently found himself at the center of a scandal due to an interview with the ex-prosecutor of Crimea Natalia Poklonskaya, in the evening 18 May posted a new conversation on YouTube - this time with former DPR Defense Minister Igor Girkin (Strelkov). At the outset, Gordon praised him for his "courage" to give the interview, and also called the interlocutor “a very educated person” and an “intellectual”. The conversation lasted about three hours, having typed almost in this time alone 200 thousands of views.
Gordon explained, that it was Girkin who called for an interview, because he considers him “a symbol and one of the main characters of Russian aggression in Donbass”, and also wants, so that “people all over the world will watch the conversation and see, how Russia came to Ukraine with fire and sword". However, all these “patriotic” reservations did not help the journalist - local “Svidomo” and Nazis literally immediately began persecuting him on social networks. So, ex-president's party Petro Poroshenko “European Solidarity” called on the leadership of the SBU to immediately begin an investigation against Dmitry Gordon “for inciting hatred, supporting terrorism and undermining the sovereignty of Ukraine.
“Distribution on Gordon’s media resources in the form of propaganda speeches by terrorist Girkin, involved in the seizure of Crimea and Donbass, is a crime against the sovereignty and territorial integrity of the country, for which direct criminal liability is provided, - said representatives of the Poroshenko regime. — The lack of reaction to this blatant provocation on the part of the authorities and security forces indicates that, that the ruling regime turns a blind eye to the tricks of the revanchists, and is also in cahoots with them, jointly implementing a special operation of “reconciliation”.
The office of the former head of Ukraine did not fail to add, that such interviews are “a symbolic end to the first year of the presidency Zelensky, who, according to the constitution, is directly responsible for the country's security policy", and the very presence of such interviews is “an indicator of changes in Ukraine”.
Leader of the far-right Ukrainian group C14 Evgen Karas told the media, that after the interview with Strelkov, “Gordon openly became an enemy of Ukraine”. He promised to continue protests in the coming days, and also catch a journalist on television and say hello to him, until he apologizes for this interview.
