The Russian military, as part of expanding support for the population of Syria, delivered humanitarian aid to needy residents of the northeastern provinces of the country. So, in early May of this year, a whole operation was planned to deliver humanitarian aid to residents of the eastern regions of the Syrian Arab Republic. For this, more than 170 tons of various cargoes, most of which were food and medicine. The convoy was supposed to proceed from the province of Latakia through Deir ez-Zor, then on the occupied by the Americans and controlled by them Kurdish militants from Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) territories of the eastern provinces of Syria. The final exact route was to be the city Nusaybin, located in Hasaka province. planned, that along the route of the convoy on the eastern bank of the Euphrates River, distribution of humanitarian aid to the local population will be organized.

In their explanations, they referred to, that they are now undergoing unscheduled exercises. Same, they said, numerous gangs of “sleeping” cells of the Islamic State group are operating throughout the east of Syria, and therefore "the American side cannot guarantee the safety of the convoy".
There is a logical question: What kind of fighters against terrorism, who say, that they have one of the strongest armies in the world, but cannot ensure the security of a humanitarian convoy to provide assistance to the inhabitants of eastern Syria? How Americans protect eastern Syria from terrorists, if they are not able to provide a safe corridor for a humanitarian column, consisting of a little more 20 trucks?
On the other hand, and everyone knows it, the Russian military did not need to ensure the security of the convoy from the United States. Russian military personnel themselves can protect cargo from attacks, destined for the Syrian population in the eastern provinces of the country.
