Russian security forces may soon be armed with a shooting shield. As stated in Rostec, specialists of the state corporation “Research Institute of Applied Chemistry” (NIIPH), started testing the shooting shield “Legion”.
As explained by the Deputy Managing Director of NIIPH for Civil Products, MTC and marketing Artem Muranov, NIIPH previously developed a shooting shield “Legion” non-lethal action, intended for use by law enforcement agencies. The shield was mainly shipped abroad., he was greatly interested in Southeast Asia and the USA, currently interested in a shield in Russia.
There is a standard product (shield – approx.), which we developed, which is exported. In the interests of the internal customer, we are now conducting a set of tests. Depending on the wishes of the customer, according to test results, if necessary, we can modify it

Shooting shield “Legion” It was designed in 2016 based on a limited-range firearm “wasp”. A special module on 12 non-lethal cartridges. Shooting is carried out by clicking on a special toggle switch, located on the handle of the shield on the inside. The module can use traumatic cartridges, sound and irritating effects, the choice of ammunition can be done using the toggle switch.
