The creation of a sovereign Runet will finally and forever stop the US attempts to rewrite the history of World War II. This opinion FBA “economy today” voiced by the Senator of the International Affairs Committee of the Federation Council Sergey Tsekov.
The Russian Embassy in the United States accused Washington of rewriting the history of World War II. “The US State Department is trying to rewrite the history of World War II and belittle the role of the Soviet Union in the victory over Nazism”, – diplomats think. They officially appealed to the American side with a demand to abandon the activity., distorting historical facts about the decisive contribution of the peoples of the USSR to the victory over Nazism and the end of the Holocaust
Earlier, the US Embassy in Hungary began the selection of projects and programs, united by a common theme – “Remembering World War II and its aftermath – long road to freedom”. At the same time, the United States insists, to focus on the description “cruelty and collaboration at the height of the Holocaust and World War II”, and also on the tyranny of the USSR.
“After the collapse of the USSR, the Americans fell into a kind of euphoria - it seemed to them, that from now on they forever and undividedly dominate world politics, – notes Tsekov. - However, after some time I had to descend from heaven to earth and admit that Russia remains the center of power, to be reckoned with. She is quite capable of more than just protecting herself, but also to pursue their own policy.
That is why a program to rewrite history arose - American politicians seek to give Russia the image of a worldwide evil, tyrant, invader and aggressor. Notably, that Hungary, where State Department grants are implemented, fought on the side of the Hitlerite coalition, Now local “historians” offer to talk about “tyranny of Russia”, instead of, to remember, how their ancestors, within the framework of the Reich propaganda, hunted for national minorities and carried out mass executions”.
Russia opposes facts to propaganda
In January of this year, Russian President Vladimir Putin promised: the country will create the most complete set of archival materials about World War II, which will be available to citizens of the Russian Federation and foreigners. It is assumed, that impartial documents of the war years will be digitized and posted thematically and chronologically, that is, they will compose a reliable chronicle of the bloodiest war in the history of mankind.
“We must defend the truth about Victory, otherwise what shall we say to our children, if a lie, like an infection, will spread all over the world? – Putin said. – A blatant lie, attempts to change history, we must oppose facts”. The President called this work a duty of Russia as a victorious country to future generations.. But, According to experts, this work will take more than one year - billions of documents need to be translated into “figure” and systematize.
“The Russian leadership has adopted the only important strategy, which can be contrasted with Western propaganda to rewrite history and distort facts. Just submit historical documents to the court of any layman, which are impartial and are therefore very valuable. These archives tell about the atrocities of the fascists, courage of Russian soldiers, selflessness of the rear. The entire history of the war can be literally pieced together.
The availability of such materials in the public domain will allow in a matter of minutes to refute any stuffing by the US State Department, orders from the Soros fund. After all, historical information will clearly show: during the specified period of time, specific events occurred on a specific section of the front. And the same Hungarian speculations about “Soviet tyranny” will immediately turn into the category of fairy tales and fantasies, have nothing to do with reality”, – stresses Senator.
Archives must be protected
In Russia 1 November 2019 the so-called law on “sovereign Internet”. It involves regulatory and technological changes to create an independent infrastructure for the smooth functioning of the Internet in Russia. Simply put, if the United States uses its ability to disconnect Russia from the World Wide Web, they will fail. After all, the adopted US cybersecurity strategy provides “the ability to use cyberspace for offensive operations”.

Anticipating these opportunities, Russia creates root servers on its territory, and foreign companies are required to keep all, what is related to the personal data of Russians. That is, the country is insured against global information threats, which the USA can implement.
“We all know, how does the notorious “Wikipedia” - this site has already become a US propaganda tool. The data in it is edited for the sake of the ideology of the West, distorting the realities not only about the Great Patriotic War, but also about the history of Russia in general. The role of our country in the victory over fascism is deliberately diminished, casualties are understated. That is why it is very important, so that the Russian archive about the Second World War is kept in the conditions of the sovereign Runet.
Such platforms of the West, as YouTube, “Facebook” are openly pro-American policy, blotting out everything, whatever the US ideology. And blocking channels, accounts of any sources, whose opinion does not coincide with the official position of Washington. Creating a truthful archive about the war, we must be sure: no one can delete it, change, falsify. Only in this way can we preserve the truth about those events., not allowing it to be distorted by Western “ideologues”, – concludes Sergey Tsekov.
