Second universal landing ship launched in China (UDC) project 075. Ceremony has passed 22 April 2020 at the shipyard of the Chinese Hudong-Zhonghua Shipyard of the Hudong-Zhonghua Shipbuilding Group in Shanghai. The descent was timed to coincide with the 71st anniversary of the creation of the PLA Naval Forces.
reportedly, UDC was removed from the dry dock and towed to the building wall, where will the final work be done. The ship was installed next to the series being built lead ship. Not head, not a single serial UDC has received a name yet.
Recall, what 11 April at the head UDC of the project 075 a major fire broke out in the stern. About the cause of the fire, as well as damage caused and possible fire victims, nothing is reported. Fire extinguished with a fire ship.
Project universal landing craft 075 fully developed by Chinese designers. UDCs are comparable in size to their class with UDCs of the Tarawa type US Navy, Wasp и America. According to available information, project ships length 075 makes up 235 to 250 m, and full displacement – 36 thousand tons (data from Chinese sources), American UDCs of the same class have a length 254-257 meters and full displacement from 40 to 46 thousand tons.
