A similar situation was with the Telegram platform – everyone continues to use it. It’s useless to introduce any sanctions for foreign sites without alternatives.
If Russia can create a service, which will be filled with interesting political statements, then you can talk about the relevance of YouTube. At the same time, deputies should work out proposals, who would support domestic IT professionals. I think, that the new government should pay more attention to the development of Russian Internet sites and consider the possibility of financing in order to, what they overtook YouTube in popularity.

US double standards on the Internet

“This main resource for the ideological treatment of the population is in the hands of the most likely adversary. Why in Russia no one is still concerned about, to create some kind of their own similar resources, is a mystery to me.

Once you sign up for Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, you are offered to make friends with people, whose views are similar to yours.
I, eg, I do not share any liberal values, but from the point of view of these sites, I need to add Alexei Navalny to my friends, Mikhail Prokhorov and other characters. This indicates, that foreign platforms form the picture of the day from their position ”, – he added.
Member of the State Duma of the Russian Federation Evgeny Marchenko urged to punish such sites for illegal actions.
“United States shows double standards policy. First call for freedom of speech, talk about human rights, but at the same time they push it all themselves. Washington does everything in its political interests and acts very brazenly, without looking back at anyone and not embarrassed.
We must punish the harassment of the Russian media with very large fines, that is, we need to work out a certain mechanism. And do so, so that they obey our laws ”, – stated Marchenko.
