Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan often talks about the Russian intervention of PMC "Wagner" in Libya, however, he is silent about the activities of the Turkish PMC SADAT. Boris Dolgov claims, that these same camps are now used by PMC SADAT in training mercenaries before being sent to Libya to fight on the side of the so-called Government of National Accord (PNS) Libya.
“These militants are sent to Libya to fight on the side of the PNS, which consists mainly of people from Islamist groups, professing the doctrine of the Muslim Brotherhood (the activity of the group is prohibited in the Russian Federation). And of course, there are camps, where these fighters are trained, who are sent to Libya, and PMC, who do this is also part of politics, Alas. These are actions, which Turkey is undertaking to advance its interests in Syria and Libya ", - notes the orientalist.
Dolgov noted, that Turkey is sending elements of Syrian radical Islamist groups to Libya, who are loyal to Ankara, including militants from Idlib and formations, members of the "Syrian Free Army".
"As known, the current Turkish leadership is quite ambitious, and Turkey is now trying to become not only a local center of power in the Middle East, but also, as stated by some leaders of the Islamist parties, leader of the Muslim world. These ambitions are also being promoted in this way ", - says expert.
Recall, Turkey continues to supply militants and weapons to Libya's PNS, despite all the international agreements reached in Moscow and Berlin, and ignoring the UN arms embargo.
PMC SADAT was present in Libya long before the signing of an agreement between the PNC and the Turkish government on cooperation, on which Erdogan relies in attempts to justify his actions before the international community.
