Staff support unmanned underwater vehicles “Poseidon” – nuclear submarine “Khabarovsk” project 09851, will be launched at the end of May of this year. It is reported by RIA Novosti with reference to a source in the military-industrial complex (Defense industry).
According to the source agency, on “Sevmash”, where is being built “Khabarovsk”, plan to launch the submarine at the end of May. After launching, the submarine will be completed afloat, after which the carrier “Poseidon” going to test, which will take at least two years.
It should be noted, then the nuclear submarine “Khabarovsk” will be a regular carrier of underwater uninhabited vehicles and, according to unconfirmed reports, will be able to carry on board at least six “Poseidon”. At the same time, a multipurpose nuclear submarine “Belgorod” project 949A “Antaeus”, specially converted for “Poseidon” and launched 23 April 2019 of the year, will be an experimental carrier. “Belgorod” plan to hand over to the customer in the fall 2020 of the year.
About the APL “Khabarovsk” not much is known. The submarine project was developed at the Central Design Bureau (CKB) “Ruby”, the submarine itself was laid down at Sevmash in July 2014 of the year. The technical details of the project are not reported..
