The Polish army will acquire its own micro-class drones. Recently, a tender for the supply of small unmanned aerial vehicles has ended, declared by the Arms Inspectorate of the Ministry of Defense of Poland.
Polish Army Order Item - Six Unmanned Aerial Vehicle Systems, capable of performing surveillance functions in day and night conditions, regardless of weather and climatic conditions, using special equipment. As it appears, Polish military expects to use similar equipment for reconnaissance purposes.
Each such system should include a remote control station with a transceiver and, least, two aircraft. UAVs must have the ability to take off and land vertically and have a take-off mass of not more than 1,6 kg and length no more 70 cm. As you can see, sizes are very minimal, which will allow for more effective monitoring.
Only two companies participated in the competition. first – Air Force Institute of Technology (ITWL), second – Asseco Poland SA. Each of them presented its systems., offering a 24-month warranty on them. Asseco wanted for kits 4,62 million zloty, and the Institute of Technology - 4,87 million zloty. In this case, the budget, allocated for the acquisition of UAVs, estimated at only 5,24 million zloty.
It is limited funds, as it appears, and forced the Polish military to focus on Asseco products. Deliveries must be made before 30 November 2020 of the year, if, of course, the situation with the epidemic will not slightly shift these dates. About, which device will the company supply to the Polish Armed Forces, not yet known. But last year, Asseco began to collaborate with Dilectro, DJI brand drone distributor.
The increased attention of the Polish military command to unmanned aerial vehicles is due to two main reasons. At first, The Polish army is rapidly arming itself, hoping to increase its security in the event of a conflict with Russia.
Secondly, in Warsaw inspired by the example of the successful use of unmanned aerial vehicles by Turkey during the fighting in Syrian Idlib. Although the ordered micro drones are for reconnaissance and surveillance, there's no doubt, that shock unmanned aerial vehicles in the foreseeable future will also be acquired by the Polish military.
The audience of the Polish media generally approves the decision to acquire drones:
Without their own strike reconnaissance drones with a flight range of at least 200-300 km and significant autonomy of operation, there can be no question of a real increase in the potential of the Polish Army. A few dozen UAVs, similar to Turkish Anka-S, would perfectly complement the capabilities of small Polish aviation,

true, many commentators are surprised by the small number of purchased devices:
Six sets ... They are crazy?
– indignant one Terytorials.
I read correctly? For several years they discussed the purchase. 12 micro-class drones? Not 12 thousand, a 12 pcs???? If this is true, then there are no normal human words,
– expresses his point of view Sidematic.
