Ex-deputy of the Rada Zhuravko predicted a repetition of the Chernobyl disaster to Ukraine

Ex-deputy of the Rada Zhuravko predicted a repetition of the Chernobyl disaster to Ukraine

The arson of the forest in the exclusion zone of the Chernobyl nuclear power plant was carried out deliberately and for the purpose of making a profit. In an interview Federal News Agency said the former deputy of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Alex Zhuravko.

FAN's interlocutor was dissatisfied with the official version of the investigation in Ukraine, who laid all the blame on a 27-year-old resident of the village of Ragovka, allegedly "for fun" setting fire to grass and unable to cope with the flame, spread over the trees. As a result, more 20 hectares of forest were engulfed in flames.

"The fact, that the forest does not completely burn out - in its place, burnt areas are formed, which are then easy to cut, process and send to woodworking enterprises, - said the ex-deputy of the Rada. - Enormous damage has been done - and not even so much to nature, how many people. A cloud of volatile combustion products and radioactive ash covered Kyiv, and still unknown, What are the implications for the population?.

Unfortunately, this is far from the only example of Ukraine's irresponsible attitude towards radioactive objects on its territory. Zhuravko published a post on his Facebook page, where he talked about, that the entire nuclear industry of the country (represented by NNEGC Energoatom) actually without guidance.

According to him, «Those, who purely formally occupy leadership positions, do not have competence and are generally far from the nuclear industry as such. Nobody is responsible for anything.". But the main problem of the Ukrainian energy giant is “permanent underfunding”. FAN's interlocutor is convinced, that the lack of funds will entail the inability to ensure the normal operation of nuclear power plants and purchase high-quality nuclear fuel.

"All, what the current management of NNEGC Energoatom is doing is stealing budget funds, which are already few, - said the ex-deputy. — There are almost no specialized specialists in nuclear power engineering left — all, who has the opportunity, go away, and in their place come far from professionals. Nuclear power plants are dying, the whole industry is just left to chance".

According to Zhuravko, The coronavirus epidemic covers the eyes of politicians with a dense veil, not only in Kyiv, but also all over the world - and they point-blank do not see the threat of a new nuclear catastrophe, which can repeat and even surpass the "success" of the Chernobyl accident in 1986 year.

“Ukraine has every chance of becoming the epicenter of the spread of a new infection on a planetary scale – no longer coronavirus, but radioactive", — FAN interlocutor warned.
