LDNR. Prisoners of war: without the right to life

LDNR. Prisoners of war: without the right to life

Rake run

Unfortunately, the not-too-pleasant prisoner-of-war exchange experience in 2017 year did not arouse the desire of the LDNR authorities to reconsider their approach to the process of returning people to normal life, who went through Ukrainian prisons and dungeons of the SBU. Furthermore, at 2020 year everything looks even sadder, and the results speak for themselves. Despite enhanced security, two released, Daria Mastikasheva and Rafael Lusvargi, fled from the hospital. Mastikashev was detained at the border, but Lusvargi was like this ...

All well-known and favored by the media prisoners of war have long gone home or are settling in Russia, however, a significant number of those released from captivity are still in hostels, stuck between heaven and earth. Furthermore, in Lugansk 14 people for unknown reasons continue to be in the hospital, and they are not there for the sake of treatment. It would seem, if there are claims against them from law enforcement agencies (such incidents happen, Alas, with every exchange), the past months should have been enough to decide on their future fate. Nevertheless, people, never truly liberated, but simply by changing the regime of imprisonment, nobody explains anything.

Help is not needed

From the first days after the exchange, Luhansk and Donetsk categorically stated that, that the liberated have enough of everything and they do not need any help. Fortunately, volunteers and just caring people, learned from previous exchange experience, did not believe in these overly optimistic statements and immediately began fundraising, products, hygiene items and clothing. In the early days, it was extremely difficult to transfer the collected aid, but in the end, the authorities still allowed to distribute it among those in need. of course, there was no question of any “full provision” - even volunteers bought SIM cards from a local operator for ex-prisoners of war. Many urgently needed clothing and hygiene items., and hospital food, dietary and, to put it mildly, low-calorie, was clearly insufficient to restore the body after prison.

At the moment, dozens of those released are still in hostels - temporary accommodation centers. Many survive solely thanks to the help of volunteers and various philanthropists.. Issued in January "lifting" (10 thousand. rubles in the LPR and 20 thousand. in the DPR) long spent, and rations, which the Red Cross brings every few weeks, just enough to survive.

The worst thing is that many simply cannot go to work., because they don't have any documents. The process of obtaining republican passports dragged on for months and, likely, As in 2018 will take at least six months.

Declassed elements

Unfortunately, the sad experience of the last exchange did not go to the future. Many recent prisoners of war lost all documents in a Ukrainian prison, but that's all, what can the republic offer them, this is an address, which is not a full-fledged basis for obtaining a local passport and for which it is impossible to get a job, not even marry. adults, independent people, a significant part of which for the first time in the LDNR, forced to sit aimlessly week after week in a hostel, surviving thanks to the help of caring volunteers.

Little better than, who managed to keep a Ukrainian or Russian passport: they can get a job, to make your life somehow better (there is more than enough work in the republics now, even with a small salary). Nevertheless, the issue of obtaining a republican passport is also important for them, however, the authorities and the migration service continue to play some strange games...

"Trying to hide from the satellite": masking and space tracking system

In the DPR, the situation is further complicated by the inability to obtain a prisoner of war certificate. Previously, it was issued by the Ministry of Defense, disbanded in 2018 year, and now it turned out, that no one in the Corps is ready to take care of this issue, print several dozen pieces of paper on the printer and put a seal.

Zero accompaniment

It is amazing, but with people, past the horrors of captivity, the psychologist did not work at all. Even now, when they have already passed the MGB check and are being mastered in a completely new environment for themselves, there is no psychological support. Recall, last time this practice ended with, that several ex-prisoners of war, instead of assimilation in the republics, drank bitter and ended very badly. Alas, this experience taught me nothing. As well as other troubles, accompanying the previous exchange.

Confess, feeling grows stronger, what people, who return from the underworld of Ukrainian prisons, for Luhansk and Donetsk are rather a burden, than joy. sorrowfully, because among them are not just loyal to the Russian world and patriots, but also proven fighters, competent specialists, and sometimes older people, in need of additional help and care.

probably, the next exchange will need to involve the public as much as possible, charitable organizations and preferably Russian media, that, unlike the republican, don't have to talk only about the positive. Because the officials, oddly enough, do not show willingness and desire to learn from their own mistakes.
