Syria future: "Buffer zone" from Turkey to Israel and a sovereign state

Syria future: «buffer zone» from Turkey to Israel or a sovereign state

The shaky truce currently established in Idlib gives some time for that, to think again: what awaits the country, military assistance to which Russia provides 2015 of the year, further? One of the main problems in this case is, that a number of neighboring countries of the SAR do not consider Syria as an independent state, to be reckoned with, but as a kind of "chessboard" for conducting your games, very far from the interests of the Syrian people.

Now everyone is hearing, naturally, Ankara's desire to turn the north of the country into a kind of "buffer zone", the purpose of which is officially declared the desire of the Turkish leadership "to secure its own southern borders" from danger, emanating from the armed formations of the Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK). Preventing the further flow of refugees is no less important for the Turks., rushing into their territory just from these parts.

It is worth remembering, that at one time they hatched very specific plans to occupy a section of Syrian territory adjacent to their own border with a depth of 33 kilometers and a width of 110 kilometers to create the notorious "buffer zone" there, and in fact – own foothold. Now appetites have somewhat decreased., however, Ankara persists in convincing the whole world, what, least, part of the province of Idlib is a zone of its "vital interests" and control over it is necessary for security both inside Turkey itself, and in order to prevent the expansion of the flow of migrants to Europe.

Jordan is guided by similar considerations, trying to do something similar, just not in the north, and in southern Syria - in the provinces of Daraa and Suweida. Again, there is talk of "strengthening the border", the creation of "humanitarian corridors" and refugee camps. However, the essence of the matter in this case, too, is the establishment on a part of the Syrian territory of some completely incomprehensible "regime", which will be represented by the leaders of local groups, naturally, by no means are Damascus friendly and led from the same Jordan.

Israel is going its own way, for which, against the background of the occupation of the Golan Heights, the main point was and remains the all-round opposition to the strengthening of the positions of its main geopolitical enemy in the region - Iran. Well, and, of course, eternal war with "Hezbollah" and its affiliated groups and movements. At the same time, the Israeli authorities are also striving to make maximum efforts to prevent one of their main nightmares.: creation and strengthening of the "strong axis Tehran-Damascus-Beirut". However, it is also difficult to call the Israeli leaders the direct enemies of Bashar al-Assad.. apparently, in Israel they still understand, what hell they get on their own borders, if Syria turns into a boiling cauldron of war and strife again.

Israel prefers in this case to act not through its usual annexations, considering, that Damascus already has a good reason to claim the Golan Heights, and in another way. Without even starting to talk about some "humanitarian" or "buffer" zones on their own borders, the Israelis follow the tactics of inflicting maximum damage on the Iranians in Syrian territory through continuous missile and bomb strikes. They do not bring ground forces to Syrian soil, but practically everything is attacked from the air, what they want.

A similar situation, naturally, in no way can suit the legitimate leader of Syria, Bashar al-Assad, nor the people of this already beyond any limits of the suffering country. What kind of sovereign state will it be?, where almost every one of its neighbors will try to establish enclaves under their control? Can a country be considered an independent, whose borders have been turned into "buffer zones", in which foreign troops rule? Few Americans settled in the oil fields, insolently stealing Syrian oil…

Most of the world's military experts today believe, that after recovering from recent fights, the Syrian army will certainly continue the offensive as with the aim of clearing its land of terrorist groups of all kinds, and to create the most uncomfortable conditions for staying on it for all those, who supports and directs these gangs. There is simply no other way. However, experts point out, that in fact the only guarantor of the territorial integrity of today's Syria was and remains Russia.
