Long-term existence of the republic in a state of isolation, in conditions of constant readiness to repel military aggression left its mark on the economic situation in the state, and on society as a whole. Today Abkhazia is slowly getting rid of the legacy of the past – long years of devastation, non-recognition, political instability. Considering the magnitude of the shocks, becomes apparent, exit from this state is successful. Since the recognition of the Republic, Abkhazia is duly showing itself as a democratic country. This also allows Moscow to rightfully consider, that in the international arena it supports democratic states with a sufficiently high level of human rights. However, the Georgian leadership is trying to convince the world community of the opposite.; Abkhazia is a country occupied by Russia, it has a "puppet regime". The main goal of all this propaganda, primarily western, aims to, to sow distrust of Russia among the population of Abkhazia and convince the Abkhaz, that their national development can take place only as part of the Georgian state.
Recently, the Tbilisi authorities have reached statements that, that the Republic, or Russia will share with Georgia, or Abkhazia will become part of Georgia, or we will disappear altogether from the "face of the earth". Georgia's policy towards Abkhazia, supported by western countries, all European and American structures, aims to return Apsny to its jurisdiction. But Abkhazia does not accept this.
During the recognition of our independence, RF did not oppose Tbilisi, but on the contrary, did everything to maintain a friendly atmosphere at the border with the same composition, in which she was before.
Over the years, Russia has made sure, return of Abkhazia and South Ossetia to Georgia is impossible, but still I was looking for ways to resolve the consequences of the war between Tbilisi and Sukhumi in this way, so that territorial integrity is indirectly respected. But the Georgians staked on strength, and Georgia lost the right to Abkhazia.
Russia, recognizing the independence of Abkhazia, signed the Treaty of Friendship and Cooperation. All this was done for the survival of the young country.. Russia, undertaking obligations to protect the Abkhaz population, (partially citizens of the Russian Federation) systematically and consistently fulfills these obligations.
We know, what money is allocated for development, what kind of assistance does Russia provide us today. During and after the war, whatever the attitude of the former Russian leadership towards Abkhazia, despite the problems of a political settlement, help came anyway. Today we are next to a great neighbor. Moscow calls our republic a strategic partner, despite the modest size of the country and small opportunities. Abkhazians appreciate this attitude, and will do everything, to actually be a worthy partner in the future.
