Private offshore engineering team will be composed of the Northern Fleet. The decision on the formation of the brigade has already been taken, reported “Notifications” with reference to the Navy Main Command.
The Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation adopted a decision on forming a part of the Northern Fleet individual marine engineering teams (OMIBr). The connection will be deployed in the next year and will have the powers and means to carry out a variety of tasks - from the construction and rehabilitation of infrastructure to assault fortified positions.
The brigade will be formed as part of a major reform of engineering troops. The connection will be not only part of ensuring, and will be considered as an independent fighting unit, entrusted with not only the construction of engineering and fortifications, but keeping assault actions.
According to available information, the staff of the brigade will pontooneers units, engineering units, specialists in engineering barriers, assault division “engineering SWAT” etc. The brigade will be equipped with the appropriate engineering equipment.
