Kurgan Machine-Building Plant, is the sole manufacturer and supplier of armored infantry fighting vehicles, I got a new contract for the supply of 168 BMP-3. Information about the conclusion of the contract is posted on the public procurement website.
According to released documentation, the agreement was concluded between the Tula AO “Instrument Design Bureau named after academician A.G.. Shipunova” and PAO “Kurgan Machine-Building Plant”, for purchase 168 infantry fighting vehicles BMP-3 in support of the State contract from 29 April 2019 years for subsequent delivery to the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation.
The total contract value is 14 billion. 215 million. rubles. Implementation of the agreement is divided into two stages: at 2020 year Kurgan should supply the Ministry of Defense 53 BMP-3, and 2021 year – rest 115 infantry fighting vehicles.
As the bmpd blog writes on this subject, BMP-3, according to specification 688V-sb6-2, will be delivered to the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation in a slightly modified form with enhanced protection, and not with the uninhabited module developed by the Tula KBP “era”, as previously thought.
Earlier, the Ministry of Defense concluded with “Kurganmashzavod” two contracts on the BMP-3 setup – three-year contract for the supply of about 200 BMP-3 in the period 2015-2017 years, and a two-year contract for the supply of about 200 BMP-3 v 2018-2019 years. The known data, recent 106 machines under the last contract, KMZ must hand over to 2019 year.
Also 28 December 2018 of the year KMZ signed a contract for overhaul 97 BMP-3 early releases with delivery to 2019-2020 years.
