Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Ruslan Khomchak, who, according to the law, is also the commander-in-chief of the armed forces of Ukraine, approved the emblems of the units of the renamed and "disguised" Airborne Forces. Recall, that earlier the Ukrainian airborne troops were called airborne assault, at the same time, the personnel were deprived of the traditional blue berets. Now servicemen of the DShV of the Armed Forces of Ukraine wear burgundy berets.
New emblems were approved for several divisions, crews, individual regiments and battalions of the airborne assault forces of Ukraine. So, chevrons after approval by General Khomchak received the 25th separate assault division, 81-I am a separate airmobile brigade, 148-1st separate howitzer artillery division, included in the DShV APU, and other formations.
Attention is drawn to the emblem of the aforementioned 25th division of the DShV of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. The symbolism had to be finalized. The artist added a third lightning bolt to the originally planned double image of a lightning bolt on the neck of a bird of prey., trying to get away from the analogy with the symbols of the Nazi SS units. However, in Ukraine itself, experts note, that this analogy is still visible.
A bird of prey in the form of a symbol was also chosen for another formation of the DShV of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. We are talking about the 95th separate airborne assault brigade.
Recall, that earlier a scandal arose in the Armed Forces of Ukraine, when one of the servicemen was photographed with the then President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko in camouflage, which was the stripe of the Nazi SS division “death's head”. The scandal was quickly hushed up, the soldier continues to serve in the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
