The material itself is built on messages “secret sources” and full of fakes. The only specified real person – head of the Ural branch of the Union of Volunteers of Donbass Maxim Khlopin. Later, he himself denied the information about, that made any comments “Jellyfish” and “Rain”.
“edition “jellyfish” is an element of the information war against Russia, and it is no secret, – notes a member of the Public Council under the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation, retired colonel Igor Korotchenko. – The project itself is registered in Latvia, where is its headquarters. And in the same city, that “jellyfish” – NATO Strategic Disinformation Center operates in Riga. Personally, I don't think it's a coincidence.. And it is with these inputs in mind that all project activities should be considered..
Russia is now stepping up efforts to promote its interests in Africa, therefore, an information war was launched against it with the involvement of Western projects. Outright fakes are being fabricated about, that Moscow is waging war in Libya, Central African Republic and other regions of the continent by the hands of some private companies. This is just an element of information attacks, which are deliberately taken against Russia”.

I.e “jellyfish” is not alone in its anti-Russian activities in Libya - a number of biased foreign publications are working on the same.
The Federal News Agency created the Mass Media Classifier, which included 100 publications – these are the most read resources with federal coverage, divided into several categories. made it, so that the reader can immediately understand, what publication does it deal with and what content it can carry. “jellyfish” in this list is located in the category “Foreign”, “Rain” - In chapter “Anti-Russian”.
“Such publications, as “jellyfish” and “Rain”, deliberately engaged in anti-Russian activities, – considers a member of the Federation Council Committee on Defense and Security Franc Klinčević. – The work of these projects has nothing to do with journalism. They are trying to discredit the image of Russia and its government. I and many of my colleagues have repeatedly said: work like this should be stopped.. “jellyfish” and others like them use that, that the Russian government stands for freedom of speech, but it is clearly abused!
Such projects have been turned into weapons, hostile to Russia. They sow lies, create an atmosphere of irritation and nervousness among the population. Today, the work of the State Duma is justifiably aimed at a systematic fight against fakes and tougher punishment for their distributors..
