For the first time the US military has used in Afghanistan «Black Hornet» ("Black Hornet"). These mini-drones came to pilot combat use in the 1st Infantry Brigade and the 3rd brigade combat support 82 st Air Assault Division of the US Army.
"Black hornets" are used to monitor the area on patrol in Kandahar province. Part of the province is under the control of the terrorist group "Taliban" (*banned in Russia).

Weight of mini-drone is only about 50 g. One of its major advantages - the work of the screw is configured in such a way, that "Black Hornet" moves through the air with minimal noise. Autonomous flight time to test samples of miniature UAVs is not more than 25 minutes. The basic version of the communication and power supply – through a conventional wire, which limits the range of application.
