Promising deck helicopter Ka-65 "Lamprey", being at the stage of development work, appeared on photos from social networks. On them, the body of the first prototype of this machine is in a dismantled state, and the helicopter itself is, as it appears, in the shop of STC Kamov.
The first talk about the possible development of a new helicopter went to 2015 year. Then the chief of naval aviation of the naval forces Igor Kozhin declared, that the Navy’s car can already get to 2020 year. Later, at 2016 year, Sergey Mikheev, general designer of Kamov JSC in a comment to the TASS news agency, made a clarification - it could take about 10 years.
The new helicopter should replace the Ka-27 ship helicopter, who is in the service of almost 50 years. New rotorcraft, being lighter, should at the same time become more powerful.
The helicopter is built according to the traditional coaxial scheme for Kamov. Research and Production Enterprise “Polet” from Nizhny Novgorod created a special communication complex for this machine, which should ensure full integration into automated systems for command and control of troops and troops.
