New combat module BM-3, designed to be placed on any armored land destination, boats and marine, adopted by the Ministry of Defense, reports “Interfax” with reference to source informed.
According to a source, combat unit with a remote control into service as part of an armored car “Typhoon-in”. BM-3-armed 12.7 millimetrovym machinegun “knife”, stabilized in two planes, allowing to hit targets in the movement at long range. The speed of rotation of arms 40 degrees per second, in module includes ammunition 250 rounds. The sight has two channels – television, allowing to detect a target at a distance of up to five thousand meters, and thermal imaging, halved at detection range – to 2,5 km. Fixed laser rangefinder measures the distance to 10 km. Temperature module operating range from -60 to +50 FROM.
module development was carried out on NGOs “electric machine” (Chelyabinsk), member of the corporation Uralvagonzavod.
According to the developers the original BM-3 module design allows to install it on any equipment land and sea destination, in particular, on armored class “Tiger”,”Typhoon”, BTR, as well as any tracked vehicles on the basis of infantry fighting vehicles, MT-LB, BMD etc. Can be used in fixed installations.
The presentation of the combat module was held in May last year,, at the same time the Ministry of Defense was transferred records, needed for mass production.
