Cartridge with a bottle sleeve for an army pistol Mauser model 1896 g. designed by P. Mauser based on the 7.65 mm Borchard cartridge. Compared to the latter, it has an increased powder charge. It has been used to this day for firing Mauser caliber pistols. 7,63 mm all models, as well as from pistols "Astra" models A and M, Schwarploze — «Standard», some submachine guns.

Interesting is the fact, that Mauser cartridge, designated as caliber 7,63 mm, actually has a caliber 7,65 mm. This notation was deliberately chosen., to distinguish the new cartridge from Borchard's ammunition, Mannlicher and others, having the same caliber, but different sleeve sizes. The cartridge in question was developed quite a long time ago, it has been used in firearms to date.
