The launch complex for the carrier "Angara" Plesetsk space center will be upgraded for the new upper stage 14S48 to fly 2019 of the year, RIA Novosti.
The developer of the new booster is RSC "Energia".
Additional equipment of the launch complex as part of the ROC “Perseus-KV” to ensure launches of carrier rockets “Angara-A5” with new upper stages 14С48 is planned to be completed in May 2019 of the year, the source told the agency.
According to him, the base module of the first upper stage 14С48 has already been delivered from the Krasmash plant to RSC Energia. In the new year, the corporation's specialists will have to retrofit and test it before the upcoming 4 quarter using during the second launch of "Angara-A5"
The interviewee added, what in 2019 year, TsNIIMash will also carry out vibration strength tests of the model of the new upper stage.
reported, that the upper stage being created within the framework of the Perseus-KV ROC is intended for use in launch vehicles when launching spacecraft into target high-energy orbits. It is created on the basis of the upper stage DM-03, flying on "Proton-M", equipped with a new control system, enlarged fuel tanks and modernized pneumohydraulic system.
On the basis of 14С48, it is planned to create an upper stage 14С49 in the future., which instead of the 11D58M engine will receive an 11D58MF with improved characteristics. They are supposed to be used on the carriers "Angara-A5", launched from the Vostochny cosmodrome.
