Malaysia wants Russian help in the repair and maintenance of Su-30MKM, standing on the Armed Force, said Malaysian Prime Minister Mahathir Mohamad during a bilateral meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin on the sidelines of the 33rd ASEAN Summit, According to Free Malaysia Today.
The Malaysian Prime Minister said the Russian president, Malaysia bought “several Russian aircraft”, but he does not know how to serve them and asked for help from Russia in their repair. Details of further negotiations were not disclosed, as the press in the further process is not involved.
Earlier, the Malaysian Air Force Commander Gen. Dato Affendi bin Buang said, the problem is compounded by the readiness of Russian fighters need to compulsory technical inspection 12 Su-30MKM units after the expiration of ten years of operation.
