The Training and Scientific Center of the Ground Forces "Combined Arms Academy of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation" presented a modular mine sweep with improved characteristics at the International Exhibition "Interpolitech-2018", According to the Russian newspaper.
According to the product developer Lieutenant Colonel Denis Roslov, the purpose of creating a trawl is to ensure high mobility of troops. The device is capable of defusing various types of mines, including those, what are exposed by remote mining systems.
Product Weight - 950 kg, trawling width - about 4 m. Moreover, the speed of its carrier can reach 25 km / h. Installed on a combat vehicle for 30 minutes. To bring the trawl into a combat position, you need only 15 seconds.
Roslov explained, that the system includes a suspension mechanism and a supporting frame of a two-moldboard configuration with movably fixed sections and a remote device on nine springs. The product is also equipped with an electromagnetic attachment, which "provokes" the early detonation of mines.
He also said, that an experimental trawl is currently being tested.
The engineering device is easily installed as on the existing military equipment (BMP-3, Btr-82A, "Typhoon", ZRPK "Carapace-C1", T-72B3, etc.), and a promising one - combat vehicles on the Armata platform, Kurganets-25, "Boomerang", Coalition-JI, as well as various robotic complexes.
