New salvo mini system developed in Russia. Within the framework of the International Forum “Army 2018”, held in Moscow Kubinka, developers from St. Petersburg Scientific and Technical Center "Barrier" presented its new development – multiple launch rocket system “sill”, transfers “Warspot”.
As the name implies, RSZO “sill” is the successor of the family “spontaneous” domestic multiple launch rocket systems. The mini-system is capable of firing 80-mm rockets of the S-8 family. The unit was created on the basis of a light truck manufactured in Ulyanovsk UAZ Cargo, and represents 40 guide tubes for launching missiles, mounted in four 10-charge blocks and installed in the back of a truck. The claimed range is from 800 to 4000 m. Rocket blocks can rotate on 360 degrees and change the angle of inclination. One block can produce a full volley in 2 seconds, system developers said.
According to the developer company “Shelter”, this mini-volley fire system is optimally suited for solving problems, assigned to the Airborne Troops and Special Operations Forces.
