Deputy Prime Minister Yuri Borisov, who oversees the government issues of military-industrial complex, He stated, that Russia is not left trying to equip its army combat WIG. During the meeting with journalists, Borisov told, that in the arms adopted state program on 2018 – 2027 , the planned development work under the code “trencher”, involves the construction of a prototype WIG.
In his speech, Borisov did not go into the tactical and technical data of the new WIG, but he told, that the main armament of the new machine will rocket. Besides, Borisov said, that the principal place “services” combat vehicle will be Russian Arctic, and more specifically, – Northern Sea Route, where it is not well developed infrastructure, and new WIG will “shoulder” close these areas.
