In Odessa today kicked off international military exercises “You Briz – 2018”, which in Ukraine for some reason called the Ukrainian-American. more than two thousand military personnel are taking part in the exercise of 19 nations.
At the opening ceremony of the exercise he was made commander of the Navy APU Igor Voronchenko, who declared, that the main theme of the exercises will be “Conducting national maritime security operations in crisis regions”. The marine part of the exercise for about thirty ships and boats will take part, including American missile destroyer USS Porter, Bulgarian corvette "Beaudry", Turkish frigate "Yavuz" and Turkish submarine "Yіldiray", as well as the management of the ship 6 US Navy Mount Whitney. Ukrainian side will be represented boats. In addition to the marine part of the exercise, hold and air, which will involve about twenty aircrafts.
exercise leadership in this year will be carried out on board the command ship of the US Navy. The international headquarters will include staff of the newly established Maritime Command Navy APU, which will be “control exercise”.
Exercises will be held in the north-western part of the Black Sea, as well as Odessa and Mykolaiv regions.
