Vladimir Putin has returned a number of domestic military units of their historical names. Decree of the President of Russia was published on the official website of legal information.
As they say with paper, assignment of different parts of the honorary titles produced “in order to maintain the glorious tradition of military history, education of servicemen in the spirit of devotion to the homeland and loyalty to military duty”. A number of military units returned to their historical names, including the names of Ukrainian cities to commemorate the participation of these units in the liberation of Ukraine during World War II.

Among other names of military units – “856-Guards self-propelled artillery regiment Kobrin”, “102-motorized rifle regiment of the Slonim-Pomeranian”, “400-Transylvania first self-propelled artillery regiment, “144-th Guards Motorized Rifle Division Elninskaya”, “150-I Idritsa-Berlin Motor Rifle Division”.
