The first fully designed and built by China's aircraft carrier Type 001A project completed sea trials. As chairman of the board of China Shipbuilding Heavy Corporation (CSIC) Hu Vénʹmin, ship fully passed all checks, tests deemed successful.
Chinese aircraft carrier sea trials, previously named "Shandong" (in honor of the Chinese province), started 23 April 2018 year in the Yellow Sea, besides experts checked the work of the propulsion system and communications system. Later inspections of weapons systems planned.
Aircraft carrier «Type 001A» project is to ship the modified project 1143.6, which is created by the type of the aircraft carrier "Liaoning". It differs from the original somewhat greater length (315 meters against 304) and wide (75 meters against 70). It is assumed, that the aircraft carrier «Type 001A» project will be able to carry on 32 to 36 J-15 fighter ("Liaoning" can take on board all 24), as well as other types of planes and helicopters.
Building an aircraft carrier was launched in November 2013 years at the shipyard in Dalian. 26 April 2017 It was held the launching ceremony. 17 April 2018 a trial was held to start the engine.
Main characteristics: total displacement 70000 tonnes. Length 315 m, width 75 m. Speed 31 node. Aviakrılo: 36 J-15 fighter. Being a part of the fleet is scheduled for 2020 year.
In addition to the ship design Type 001A in Dalian is currently being built aircraft carrier project Type 002A. In contrast to the "Liaoning" and "Shandong", equipped with a boiler and turbine installations, operating on fuel oil, Type 002A aircraft carrier project, perhaps, get a nuclear power plant and the mass driver, transmits portal “Nplus1”
