Russian Defense Ministry intends to reform the military departments of universities - military training centers will be established on the basis of their, break the news.

According to Deputy Defense Minister Nikolai Pankov, military departments will be merged into the military training centers (VTC) at civilian universities, and will be a source of frames to be created in the country's mobilization reserve.
The Center will implement three programs of study: preparation of reserve officers, regular officers, as well as privates and sergeants stock.
Pankov said, that today some universities are working in parallel military departments and centers. The first train specialists reserve, second - career officers. It uses one and the same base material. The meaning of reform - to optimize the organization.
He also told, that the number of military departments continues to grow. So 2017 was created 12 new chairs. This year we plan to increase that number to 93 countrywide.
As the expert noted Vladislav Shurigin, preservation of military departments of the system is advantageous as the defense department, and universities: for the Ministry of Defense - this is a cheap source of trained professionals, and schools - is the prestige and increasing competition.
