Council by the European Union has decided to blacklist five others due to the past in Crimea presidential elections in Russia. It is reported by TASS with reference to sources in Brussels.
According to the source, these persons are "associated with actions to undermine the sovereignty of Ukraine in the context of the organization of voting in the Crimea". Names came under sanctions, not specified. According to the EU, we are talking about the people, who hold "positions of responsibility in the election commissions of the Crimea and Sevastopol".
The decision will come into force on Tuesday, 15 May, after it will publish, the source added.
The first to congratulate the EU with the introduction of new restrictive measures hurried Ukrainian leader Pyotr Poroshenko, who declared, it welcomes the decision by the EU to impose new sanctions because of the presidential elections in Crimea.
