Yuri Vladimirovich Kurlin graduated from the Rostov Industrial College and the Krasnokutsk Flight School of the Civil Air Fleet, as well as the Kiev Institute of Civil Air Fleet Engineers. During his career, he participated in tests of almost all brands of aircraft of the Antonov Bureau, including An-124 and An-22. Kurlin also set four world altitude records for the An-32.. AT 1966 year the pilot was awarded the title of Hero of the Soviet Union.
